IT Spending Will Inch Ahead in 2014, Gartner Says
Global IT spending will reach $3.8 trillion this year, Gartner predicted
this week, representing a 3.1 percent increase over spending in 2013,
which clocked in at $3.7 trillion. The rate of growth between 2012 and
2013, by contrast, was a negligible 0.4 percent. Among the winning
categories for 2014 are devices including PCs, ultramobiles, mobile
phones and tablets.

9 CRM Companies to Watch in 2014
I'd like to say it's going to be a good year in CRM, and I firmly
believe it, though I can't offer a single, all-encompassing reason for
my optimism. There are plenty of small things that begin to add up,
however -- in an earlier time, the metaphor might have been "straws in
the wind." So what are they? First, the economy is looking better -- but
that's faint praise.

Apple's YOY Sales Sag
Apple's month-to-month smartphone sales appear healthy, according to
data covering September to November 2013 from Kantar Worldpanel ComTech.
However, the bigger picture is less encouraging. Year-over-year figures
indicate Apple is at best treading water, with its share having declined
in most major markets. The release of the iPhone 5s and 5c gave a nice
boost to Apple's monthly sales.
